Ruben Arana-Downs
Founder/ Lead Instructor
Koorma Design: Education

"This course actually turned out to be very helpful because everyone was talking about how they did not like speech. As an instructor, I learned a lot from the lessons and the class and it will be very helpful in the future."
-Jeremy Robbins

"This class was interesting because of the opportunity of learning different things about people when they are giving their speeches. Ruben is an effective teacher who loves to teach. His teaching skills radiate energy as he teaches. I personally will never forget him. I will apply my speech knowledge form this class in my everyday life. Ruben please continue to drown in your positive teaching energy. Thank you."
-Sonya Gaynor

"My experience in speech class this semester has been very positive. This was a good class to take because I think that everyone should know some aspects of speaking. I have truly benefited from the things I've learned, and I have had the opportunity to put it to the test. As a member of the Fishers' Ministry at my church, I've gotten up at our last two meetings and spoke...Thank you Ruben for your dedication to the class, and your desire to teach what you know to us. God Bless."
-Gwendolyn Mountcastle

"Mr. Arana-Downs, this speech class has taught me a lot this semester. Because of your class, I feel comfortable speaking in front of others and I know how to deliver a proper speech. This has been a great class; don't change anything. You have a great method of teaching and you interact well with the class. Thank you for everything."
-Imelda Delossantos

"This course has made a few changes in my life, because I am not as shy to stand in front of a group of people and I also learned the many different speech types. I enjoyed this class because it was not a typical class but we got to interact with Ruben and also with our classmates more than other classes I've attended. Ruben had an impact on the class I felt because he seemed to want to teach the class and always had a wonderful attitude."
-Sierra Hillyer

"I really enjoyed this course. I enjoyed your teaching methods. Normally I don't like to be lectured for an hour and a half but you make it interesting. The grading skills were good, and the information I was provided with has really helped me. I like the fact that you prepared well before each speech and gave us enough time in advance. I look forward to having you as a future instructor."
-Rakeeda S. Wellman

"Even if I was, at the beginning, skeptical whether to take this course or not because I was feeling insecure, intimidated, and a little bit ashamed of having an accent, I can tell you that you taught me to overcome my fear, go out there and give an effective speech. I really think that you possess excellent qualities for an instructor because you are able to create a friendly environment with lots of laughter and you always offer an outstanding lecture to all of us. Also, I want you to know that you helped me grow not only academically, but also personally an emotionally because you helped me realize that communication and laughter are the shorted distance between people, and that is something I will be forever thankful."
-Ana Sebescen

The PSP workshop is based on a four-part model. This model consists of 4 primary goals that drive one critical outcome. The primary goals are Define, Identify, Reinforce, and Excite.
